Are you vegan or vegetarian?

When we talk about a diet, we habitually mean a weight-loss management. Many people who are seamlessly happy with their weights are on diet restriction. What it means is to choice only from certain types of food. Recently Vegan is getting more popular diets among our desi communities. I think so many unethical mixtures of chemical products in vegetarian products make many strict vegetarian people adopting vegan diet over other.

A 2014 info graphic put together byTopRNtoBSN.COM and PETA.ORG found the number of vegans has doubled since 2009. Whereas USA News ranked Vegan diet on top 20 list of overall best diet and top ten for best weight-loss, heart healthy and helpful diabetes diet choice.

So question is how Vegan diet differ with Vegetarian food intake? Well Vegan diet is step up from vegetarian diet which also exclude meat but in addition all animal by-products e.g., eggs, milk, honey and anything made with gelatin. Various reasons adopting vegan lifestyle but most collective is Ethical (not to exploit and use animals for gain), Health Related as it reduces heart related diseases and also per one study published in BMJ improve sex life. And finally the big impact you can do is on environment by adapting vegan diet.

Choices are very limited for vegan dieters but once routine is set it is not difficult to source different vitamins and nutrition from all available choices of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, beans, and legumes. Protein and Iron seems too difficult to find substitutes in vegan but PETA.ORG suggested that one cup of cooked lentils or cooked black beans consist of 18 grams of protein, whereas Veggie burger patty made up of 13 grams of protein and 4 Oz. of firm tofu provide 11 grams of protein. Soybeans and legumes are also very good source of iron which can be paired with fruits rich in Vitamin C for increase in iron absorption. Researches also agreed that Vegan and Vegetarian diets are beneficial to humans, animals and can make big impact on the environment. People who are excluding all animal by-products have very good reason to live longer without medicine. Also with so many artificial food items in process food market it is always advise to examine all food
labels on ingredients used. One good example if you are fully vegetarian the rennet used to make cheese coagulate, for instance is commonly from calves’ stomach.
GO VEGGIE!!!
